FAQs about DNA Testing

Did you know that you can use the power of your DNA to completely transform your health and wellness?

The information we find in your DNA can help you lose weight, gain muscle, get more energy, and have better sleep.

Our CEO & Co founder answered some of your questions about DNA testing and how it can help improve your health and wellness.

1. How does your DNA impact your health and wellness?

A really easy way of understanding this is by imagining that your DNA is an instruction manual.

It gives your body instructions on how to build enzymes and proteins that play an important role in your health and wellness.

The instruction manual is good, but it’s not perfect. There are typos in there and some words and letters are missing. In DNA, those mistakes are called SNPs or Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms

Most SNPs have little to no impact on our bodies. For example, if you replace the K with a C in the word 'kangaroo', you’re still going to understand what it means.

However, some SNPs have been shown to have a big impact on your health and wellness. The words dye and die have completely different meanings when one letter is changed.

So when we analyze your DNA, we look for SNPs that have been shown in multiple peer reviewed studies to have an impact on your body.

2. Can my DNA still change?

The simple answer to that is no. Your DNA is set in stone from the moment you were born and it cannot change naturally.

Having said that, scientists have come up with a revolutionary solution called Crispr or Clustered Regularly Interspaced Palindromic Repeats.

This technology that allows them to target and alter DNA with precision.

In fact, several companies are continuously researching ways to utilize this gene-editing tool to fix genetic diseases in humans.

Of course, this is still preliminary but it's really really encouraging.

3. Who owns my DNA data  & Do you sell it to anybody?

With a LifeDNA test, you still own your own DNA data.

As a matter of fact, you can request to have it deleted at anytime.

All you have to do is send us an email letting us know that you want it removed and we’ll delete it right away.

We also never sell or share your DNA data with anybody without your consent.

We are happy to share it with your medical doctor or your practitioner if you require us to do so.. but other than that, your DNA is yours and we completely respect your privacy.
